Every hero has a city; a place he protects, hangs his cape, a place he can call home – so does the Black Panther.
By know most of us must have seen the beautiful movie and probably some hasnt, i suggest you take some time of work or during the weekend to see this beautiful movie.
While most Marvel comics characters come from somewhat real-life locations: The Black Widow comes from Russia: Wolverine and Deadpool from Canada: Blade from England: Iron Man, Daredevil, Spiderman hail from New York, some characters location like the Black Panther can’t be easily traced.

The Black Panther has his location set in the fictional nation of Wakanda – it is not exactly one with a set of coordinates! Wakanda’s precise location has been shifted in the Marvel Universe a lot but it has most often been placed in East Africa, just north of Tanzania – placing it close to South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, and Ethiopia. The nation of Wakanda takes from several African countries making it harder to limit Wakanda’s existence to a particular location.
WHAT ABOUT WAKANDA?
Dig in….

The name “Wakanda” comes from the Wakamba tribe of Kenya. The languages spoken in this fictional nation are Wakandan; Yoruba from Nigeria, Benin, and Togo; and Hausa – spoken by 27 million people across Niger, Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Togo, and Libya. Due to the advanced education system in Wakanda, the people are also fluent in European languages.

The Kingdom of Wakanda rose to power as the richest and most advanced society in the world largely due to a wealth of natural resources surrounding the nation. Wakanda is said to derive its wealth from its major resource – Vibranium, as well as coal, diamonds and high tech futuristic science – Wakanda’s technology, is so advanced, it is impossible to hack. The currency of Wakanda is the Wakandan Dollar.
I know most of you are thinking:
“SO WHERE EXACTLY IS WAKANDA AND WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND?”
I really wish I knew and I could tell you. Wakanda, despite being based on very real places, isn’t real. Geographically, South Africa, Kenya or Tanzania works. It is however said that Wakanda hides from the world to protect themselves and their wealth, with a high futuristic science I guess that makes it pretty hard to find them.
Good news!
